Selah: Processing the Pandemic: Repairing the Altar
1 Timothy 2:1-6
First of all, then, I urge that petitions, prayers, intercessions, and thanksgivings be made for everyone, 2 for kings and all those who are in authority, so that we may lead a tranquil and quiet life in all godliness and dignity. 3 This is good, and it pleases God our Savior, 4 who wants everyone to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth. 5 For there is one God and one mediator between God and mankind, the man Christ Jesus, 6 who gave himself as a ransom for all, a testimony at the proper time.
Ephesians 5:11-12
Don’t participate in the fruitless works of darkness, but instead expose them.
1 Kings 18:30
Then Elijah said to all the people, “Come near me.” So all the people approached him. Then he repaired the Lord’s altar that had been torn down
1 Peter 2:4-5
As you come to him, a living stone—rejected by people but chosen and honored by God— 5 you yourselves, as living stones, a spiritual house, are being built to be a holy priesthood to offer spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus Christ.
You Don’t Repair the ______________________ until you are READY to do Business with God.
I feel our Progression needs to be:
Repair the __________________ (1 Kings 18:30)
Offer ______________________ as a Living Sacrifice (Rom 12:1)
Only then, can we call down _________ from Heaven ( 1 Kings 18:38)
James 5:16
Therefore, confess your sins to one another and pray for one another, so that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous person is very powerful in its effect.
Psalm 51:7-10
Purify me with hyssop, and I will be clean; wash me, and I will be whiter than snow. 8 Let me hear joy and gladness; let the bones you have crushed rejoice. 9 Turn your face away from my sins and blot out all my guilt. 10 God, create a clean heart for me and renew a steadfast spirit within me.
