Preparing for Rain

1 Kings 18:42b-45 CSB
but Elijah went up to the summit of Carmel. He bent down on the ground and put his face between his knees. ⁴³ Then he said to his servant, “Go up and look toward the sea.”  So he went up, looked, and said, “There’s nothing.”  Seven times Elijah said, “Go back.”  ⁴⁴ On the seventh time, he reported, “There’s a cloud as small as a man’s hand coming up from the sea.”  Then Elijah said, “Go and tell Ahab, ‘Get your chariot ready and go down so the rain doesn’t stop you.’”  ⁴⁵ In a little while, the sky grew dark with clouds and wind, and there was a downpour.

Acts 2:17-21
And it will be in the last days, says God, that I will pour out my Spirit on all people;
then your sons and your daughters will prophesy, your young men will see visions, and your old men will dream dreams. ¹⁸ I will even pour out my Spirit on my servants in those days, both men and women and they will prophesy. ¹⁹ I will display wonders in the heaven above and signs on the earth below: blood and fire and a cloud of smoke. ²⁰ The sun will be turned to darkness and the moon to blood before the great and glorious day of the Lord comes. ²¹ Then everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.

Psalm 24:3-5
Who may ascend the mountain of the Lord?  Who may stand in his holy place?  ⁴ The one who has clean hands and a pure heart, who has not appealed to what is false, and who has not sworn deceitfully. ⁵ He will receive blessing from the Lord, and righteousness from the God of his salvation.

Hosea 10:12
Sow righteousness for yourselves and reap faithful love; break up your unplowed ground. It is time to seek the Lord until he comes and sends righteousness on you like the rain.
