Philippians: Set Apart

Isaiah 65:1a
I was ready to be sought by those who did not ask for me; I was ready to be found by those who did not seek me.

Acts 7:54-58
Now when they heard these things they were enraged, and they ground their teeth at him. ⁵⁵ But he, full of the Holy Spirit, gazed into heaven and saw the glory of God, and Jesus standing at the right hand of God. ⁵⁶ And he said, “Behold, I see the heavens opened, and the Son of Man standing at the right hand of God.” ⁵⁷ But they cried out with a loud voice and stopped their ears and rushed together at him. ⁵⁸ Then they cast him out of the city and stoned him. And the witnesses laid down their garments at the feet of a young man named Saul.

Acts 9:1-6
But Saul, still breathing threats and murder against the disciples of the Lord, went to the high priest ² and asked him for letters to the synagogues at Damascus, so that if he found any belonging to the Way,  men or women, he might bring them bound to Jerusalem. ³ Now as he went on his way, he approached Damascus, and suddenly a light from heaven shone around him. ⁴ And falling to the ground, he heard a voice saying to him, “Saul, Saul, why are you persecuting me?” ⁵ And he said, “Who are you, Lord?” And he said, “I am Jesus, whom you are persecuting. ⁶ But rise and enter the city, and you will be told what you are to do.”

Galatians 1:15-16a
But when God, who from my mother’s womb set me apart and called me by his grace, was pleased ¹⁶ to reveal his Son in me, so that I could preach him among the Gentiles

We are going to take what is called a CHRISTOCENTRIC Approach to the book of Philippians:  Christocentric is a theological term and position of viewing everything from the viewpoint of Christ is _________________ of.

Jeremiah 1:4-6
The word of the Lord came to me:  ⁵ I chose you before I formed you in the womb; I set you apart before you were born. I appointed you a prophet to the nations.  ⁶ But I protested, “Oh no, Lord God! Look, I don’t know how to speak since I am only a youth.”

No Soul is too far gone for God to _______________ and God to _________.

Acts 9:17-20
Ananias went and entered the house. Then he got up and was baptized. ¹⁹ And after taking some food, he regained his strength.  Saul was with the disciples in Damascus for some time. ²⁰ Immediately he began proclaiming Jesus in the synagogues: “He is the Son of God.”

Acts 16:1-2
Paul came also to Derbe and to Lystra. A disciple was there, named Timothy, the son of a Jewish woman who was a believer, but his father was a Greek. ² He was well spoken of by the brothers at Lystra and Iconium.

Philippians 2:19-20
I hope in the Lord Jesus to send Timothy to you soon, so that I too may be cheered by news of you. ²⁰ For I have no one like him, who will be genuinely concerned for your welfare.
