Disordered Anger

James 1:19-20
My dear brothers and sisters, understand this: Everyone should be quick to listen, slow to speak, and slow to anger, 20 for human anger does not accomplish God’s righteousness.

Matthew 5:21-24
You have heard that it was said to our ancestors, Do not murder, and whoever murders will be subject to judgment. 22 But I tell you, everyone who is angry with his brother or sister will be subject to judgment. Whoever insults his brother or sister, will be subject to the court. Whoever says, ‘You fool!’ will be subject to hellfire. 23 So if you are offering your gift on the altar, and there you remember that your brother or sister has something against you, 24 leave your gift there in front of the altar. First go and be reconciled with your brother or sister, and then come and offer your gift.

Ephesians 4:26-27
Be angry and do not sin. Don’t let the sun go down on your anger, 27 and don’t give the devil an opportunity.

Hebrews 12:14-15
Pursue peace with everyone, and holiness—without it no one will see the Lord. 15 Make sure that no one falls short of the grace of God and that no root of bitterness springs up, causing trouble and defiling many.

Proverbs 14:29-30
A patient person shows great understanding, but a quick-tempered one promotes foolishness.  30 A tranquil heart is life to the body, but jealousy is rottenness to the bones.

James 4:12
Don’t criticize one another, brothers and sisters. Anyone who defames or judges a fellow believe defames and judges the law. If you judge the law, you are not a doer of the law but a judge. 12 There is one lawgiver and judge who is able to save and to destroy. But who are you to judge your neighbor?

Ephesians 4:32
And be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving one another, just as God also forgave you in Christ.
