Psalm 139

 7 Where can I go to escape your Spirit?

Where can I flee from your presence?

8 If I go up to heaven, you are there; if I make my bed in Sheol, you are there.

9 If I fly on the wings of the dawn and settle down on the western horizon, 10 even there your hand will lead me; your right hand will hold on to me.

11 If I say, “Surely the darkness will hide me, and the light around me will be night”— 12 even the darkness is not dark to you. The night shines like the day; darkness and light are alike to you.

Hebrews 4:13

13 No creature is hidden from him, but all things are naked and exposed to the eyes of him to whom we must give an account.

Genesis 28:16, 17

16 When Jacob awoke from his sleep, he said, “Surely the Lord is in this place, and I did not know it.” 17 He was afraid and said, “What an awesome place this is! This is none other than the house of God. This is the gate of heaven.”

The presence of God demands a response from us.

Exodus 33:12-18

12 Moses said to the Lord, “Look, you have told me, ‘Lead this people up,’ but you have not let me know whom you will send with me. You said, ‘I know you by name, and you have also found favor with me.’ 13 Now if I have indeed found favor with you, please teach me your ways, and I will know you, so that I may find favor with you. Now consider that this nation is your people.”

14 And he replied, “My presence will go with you, and I will give you rest.”

15 “If your presence does not go,” Moses responded to him, “don’t make us go up from here. 16 How will it be known that I and your people have found favor with you unless you go with us? I and your people will be distinguished by this from all the other people on the face of the earth.”

17 The Lord answered Moses, “I will do this very thing you have asked, for you have found favor with me, and I know you by name.” 18 Then Moses said, “Please, let me see your glory.”

One of the greatest tragedies in the human life is to settle for the blessings of God without the presence of God.

Are we content to go through our lives without God’s presence?

Do we really want His presence more than anything else?
